Roll through a hand-built open world

THE CANON OF BALLS is a first-person precision platformer with dark fantasy, gothic touches and a PS2-era look. You move balls through a large open world where every parkour course is built around its own specific idea or twist, and nothing is assembled from a repeated level kit. The controls are simple to pick up, but the courses are unforgiving: expect to fail, retry and tighten your movement until a section finally clicks. The sound design is tuned to give each ball real weight, so drops, bounces and impacts read clearly while you play. Progress is yours to figure out, with no minimaps, quest markers or tutorials telling you where to go.

Playing it with your group

Online co-op lets your friends share the same world, and you can also finish the whole thing offline alone. There are no multiplayer objectives or forced rules — the world itself is the playground. Some groups will race to see who reaches a crystal first, others will take it slow, wait for each other and talk through the tricky stretches. The setup borrows from the feeling of working through parkour maps together: mostly struggling with the same jumps while catching up on whatever conversation comes up. Nothing requires a second player, so a group can split up, compete, or stick together as it suits them.

What to know before you start

Come in expecting a hardcore platformer wrapped in a casual-looking package: easy to learn, genuinely hard to master, and built with no hand-holding at all. Without markers or tutorials, finding your next course is part of the experience, and the nonlinear open world means you choose your own path through it. Each track introduces a fresh twist rather than repeating a template, so the challenge keeps changing shape as you explore. Bring patience, a willingness to fail often, and friends who enjoy that mix of competition and cooperation.
