Plan the heist, then break your way in

Teardown is a first-person game about robbing places in a voxel world where nearly everything can be destroyed. Before each mission you get time to scout the level and plan a route. Walls, floors, safes, and vehicles can all be broken, moved, or turned into shortcuts, so the path you take is up to you. When you are ready, you grab the targets and get out before the trigger-happy robots catch you. The campaign follows your demolition business into a mess of revenge, betrayal, and insurance fraud, with 40 missions to work through. Tools and explosives can be upgraded by finding valuables hidden in the environments.

Play together with your group

Up to 12 people can join one online session, either in a private lobby for your group or a public one. You can run the campaign together, mess around in sandbox mode, or load community mods. The physics stay the same for everyone, so one person can drive a truck through a wall while another sets off explosives on the other side. Sandbox mode gives you unlimited resources and no objectives, which is a good way to learn how fire, smoke, water, and debris behave before taking on a real heist.

Before you start

The game leans on planning and problem-solving as much as on shooting, so expect to spend time reading a level before committing to a plan. Destruction is permanent within a run, and getting caught sends you back. If your group wants variety beyond the campaign, the built-in editor lets you make maps, tools, vehicles, and game modes with Lua scripting and Steam Workshop support, and there are thousands of community mods already available. Art Vandals, a free mini campaign set in Tilläggaryd, adds five heist missions and two new tools: the Paperboy Gun and the Jackhammer.
