Build your own ride

Trailmakers is a building and driving game where the vehicle is the whole point. You snap blocks together to make cars, boats, planes, or anything else, and the game's physics decides whether it works. Blocks change how your build handles aerodynamics, speed, function, and combat, so a bad design falls apart and a good one flies. Hundreds of blocks are available, plus skins, colors, and patterns for your character and your builds. If you would rather not start from scratch, there are pre-made vehicles in the game and thousands of community builds in the workshop to load up and tweak.

Play with your group

Every mode supports 2 to 8 players, campaign included. You can open a server for your friends or drop into public games. The five sandbox maps are the hangout spot: build side by side, test each other's vehicles, and swap workshop creations. For something with stakes, Race Island has 14 tracks with leaderboards. When you want to break things instead, the arsenal holds 14 weapons including miniguns, EMPs, laser blasters, rocket launchers, and shotguns, usable in PvP across ground, ocean, air, and space.

What to expect first

The main mode, "Pioneers," drops you into an open world with NPCs, enemies, and missions. You join the Trailmakers, an elite engineering society, and help the frogs of Gregory fight off the BOTNAKs who are strip-mining their planet. Completing missions unlocks new parts, which matters because different biomes and terrain want different vehicles. Expect to rebuild often. The builder is easy to pick up but takes real practice to master, and the physics will punish designs that ignore weight, balance, or drag.
