What Voxel Project VR is
Voxel Project VR is a sandbox shooter set in a fully destructible voxel world. Everything is built from voxels, so you can cut, break and burn your way through the environment rather than just shooting at static scenery. The world comes with vehicles, enemy NPCs, dynamic fire, ragdolls and weapon customization. You get a tablet for spawning and manipulating objects, a physics gun for moving things around, and an impact driver that screws objects together so you can build whatever you want. Vehicles are destructible too — you can slice the roof off a car with a plasma saber and turn it into a convertible, or tie objects and ragdolls to the back and drag them across the map.
Playing with your group
The game supports online co-op and online PvP, so you and your friends can share the same world. In Sandbox Mode everyone gets unrestricted access to props and weapons with unlimited ammo: spawn explosives, guns, cars, props and NPCs, toggle day and night, and switch off the NPC AI so they stop moving while you build or set up a scene. Siege Mode is the wave-defense option, playable in day or night. You fortify a position with barricades, earn currency to upgrade gear and buy more barricades, and loot ammo from the enemies you drop. Night runs pay out more. Within Siege you can pick a quiet approach with silencers or go loud.
Before you start
The game is in active development, with more items, levels and features planned through updates, so expect the content set to grow over time. Modding is built in: you can create custom maps, pistols, rifles, knives and axes, attachments and more, then publish them to the Steam Workshop. The SDK and modding guide sit in the game folder and include walkthroughs to get you started. The tone mixes realistic physics and destruction with dark, gory voxel dismemberment, so it is not a gentle experience — worth knowing before you invite the whole group in.
