A Turn-Based Tactical RPG

Solasta: Crown of the Magister is a turn-based tactical RPG built on the Dungeons and Dragons SRD 5.1 Ruleset. You take control of four heroes, each with unique skills that complement one another. Battles run on initiative order, where positioning, attacks of opportunity, and the verticality of the battlefield decide the outcome. The dice decide your destiny, so a natural 20 at a key moment can turn a fight around. The game includes both the official Crown of the Magister and Lost Valley campaigns.

Playing Together Online

Online Co-op lets you share the campaign with friends. This mode works with the official CotM and Lost Valley campaigns, the Primal Calling content, and Custom Campaigns made with the Dungeon Maker. Each player controls their own heroes in the party, so you can build a squad that covers each other's weaknesses and talk through dialogue choices as a group.

Before You Start

Character creation follows the tabletop tradition: choose race, class, personality, and roll for your stats. Your heroes' personalities show up in dialogue, and the choices you make shape the story. Dungeons use light and darkness as real mechanics, so some enemies have darkvision while others may flee from your torch. The environment is part of the fight: bridges can collapse, walls and columns can be pushed over, and you can climb, jump, or fly to gain high ground. Size matters too, since narrow passages can keep larger enemies out. The level cap is 12, unlocking level 6 spells and new class features. You can skip the tutorial if you have played before, and spellcasting chants can be turned off in the options menu. After the campaign, the Dungeon Maker lets you build and share your own dungeons, controlling room layout, monsters, treasure, decoration, lighting, music, quests, dialogue, and loot tables, then bundle them into a campaign with custom NPCs, merchants, and items.
