A hauling job in the asteroid belt
I Fetch Rocks puts you to work in 2150 for a mining facility in the belt between Jupiter and Mars. You are issued an Asteroid Hauler, and your task is to find mineral-rich asteroids and tow them back to the primary mining facility for processing. You start with a basic ship and earn credits, which you spend to upgrade, customise and repair the vessel as contracts grow larger and harder. The work sounds simple, but the belt is dangerous: radiation and cosmic rays continuously degrade your ship's components, so systems will fail around you over the course of your employment.
Build and wire your own ship
Everything is assembled from a node-based system of simple single-function components, with hundreds of interconnecting parts to work with. You can start from a pre-fitted layout or build from scratch, and any control can be moved, changed or removed — the layout is yours to decide. Red cables carry power distribution, green cables carry data flow from user input and sensors, and you wire the modules together however you like. The game is built exclusively for VR, so you use your own hands to build, wire and fly.
Flying and working together
Online Co-op lets you and your friends take on the job together, using the controls you built and wired or a pre-fitted ship to haul asteroids and complete contracts, or just fly about dodging rocks. Because every system can fail, you will need to know how the ship's parts operate and fit together so you can rearrange, rewire and reprogram them as things break. Getting the payload back to the primary mining facility will push your creative engineering limits.
