What Beat Aim is

Beat Aim is a rhythm-based aim trainer built for FPS players. You load a song, and the game generates a map from it, so every run gives you a new layout instead of the same fixed drills. Because the map is created fresh each time, reflexes matter more than memorizing patterns, which is the opposite of most rhythm games. It sits between something like osu! and a dedicated aim trainer such as KovaaK's: the timing and music come from rhythm games, the crosshair work comes from aim trainers.

You can open any music file in wav, ogg or mp3 format and tune the generation with more than 25 parameters, including difficulty. Every map has an effectively infinite difficulty range, so you can dial it down while learning or push it up when you want a real test. Targets come in four kinds: click targets, sliders that demand tracking aim, sliders with an invisible path, and WASD arrow targets that stop you from shooting with your keyboard. You have three guns to work with, two pistols and one LMG.

Playing together

Beat Aim is built around scores rather than shared sessions. Everyone plays the same Ranked maps and climbs the same leaderboards, so a group can pick a map, run it, and compare results afterwards. The Esports League runs on leaderboard scores in Ranked maps, and the Mapping League takes the most popular Workshop maps into the Ranked pool every two weeks, which gives a group a rotating set of maps to compete on. There are more than 2000 Steam Workshop maps to download and share, and custom leaderboards let you attach a YouTube video of your run to your score. Streaming is covered too, with a bot that tracks viewer watch time for the Streamers League.

Before you start

Expect a steep curve: the game is tagged as difficult, and the difficulty slider is there for a reason. Start low, raise it as your aim settles, and use the daily quests and Beat Coins progression to unlock more guns along the way. The map generator and background visuals are available to everyone, so you can build maps from your own music and share them. The game is in Early Access and still growing, with a roadmap shaped by Discord feature requests and bug reports, and multiplayer is listed as a possible future addition rather than something you can play now.
