A grounded fighter with no jump button

Arcus Chroma: Classic is a 2D juggle combo fighting game built around grounded combat. The jump button is gone, and the space it used up is folded into the rest of the movement kit. What you get is fast, free-flowing ground movement paired with a dodge that lets you reposition around your opponent and look for the counter. Dodging and countering are the core of the game, and the creative combo system is there so you can build your own routes rather than follow one fixed plan. The cast is described as unique, with 11 playable characters and 4 stages available in the current Early Access build.

Playing together

Local Versus Mode is the main way a group sits down with this game: pick characters, take a stage, and fight it out on one setup against a friend. Training Mode is there for anyone who wants to work out combo routes and matchup ideas before jumping into a set. There is also a CPU option in Local Versus for when you want to practice against the computer instead of a person.

Getting online with friends

This version does not have online multiplayer. The developer points to Steam Remote Play and third-party tools like Parsec as the way to play matches over the internet with friends. Remote Play Together is listed as a supported Steam feature, so one person can host and others can join through that. Keep in mind that the game is in Early Access, so the feature set can change as development continues. Settings and button configuration are available if you want to rebind controls to your own layout.
