Two voices in a frozen castle
You and one partner are lost in a frozen wasteland and end up separated inside an abandoned castle. The only thing you have left is a walkie-talkie, and a familiar voice answers from the other end. The whole game is played in first person, and the two of you never see the same thing: Player One is confined to a small secluded part of the castle while Player Two roams the halls trying to find Player One. The castle is fictional but inspired by Castle Rock, Antarctica, and the atmosphere is dark and tense, closer to a thriller than a romp.
Playing it together
This is online co-op built for exactly two players, and both of you need a working PC-compatible microphone. Your voice is the only tool you share, so every room turns into a test of how clearly you can describe what you see. Each player has a completely different game experience, which means you cannot simply follow each other around; you have to trade clues, describe symbols and mechanisms, and talk each other through what only one of you can observe. It works just as well with a friend as with a complete stranger, since the design assumes you are starting from nothing in common.
Before you start
We Were Here is the free pilot episode in a series of cooperative standalone puzzle adventures, so treat it as a self-contained taste of the format rather than a long campaign. The puzzles are challenging and lean on escape-room and investigation logic, with exploration and multiple endings along the way. Expect an atmospheric, psychological horror tone with dark environments rather than combat-heavy action. Set aside time to talk through each room properly, and make sure your microphone setup works before you launch, since voice communication is the core mechanic rather than an extra.
