What Three Kingdoms:BOND is
Three Kingdoms:BOND is a competitive auto-battler built around drafting and placement. Each match starts with a fresh, random selection of warlords, and you recruit them on a boardgame-style map to assemble an army. There are no fixed meta formations to copy, since the pool you get changes every time. Over 100 originally illustrated warlords are in the game, with more planned for future updates, and every one of them can be unlocked just by playing. The game is a one-time purchase with no gacha and no pay-to-win: Time-Saver Packs only speed up unlocking, and no warlord is exclusive to them. In PvP everyone competes under the same conditions.
How a group plays it together
Battles are fully automated, so the whole match is decided by your decisions before the clash rather than by reflexes. You place generals on a grid-based battlefield, study the opponent's formation, and try to counter it with unit counters, skill ranges, and ambush potential. Cavalry beats Archers, Archers beat Spears, Spears beat Cavalry, and high-INT generals can reveal hidden ambushes. Affinities and skills across factions create BOND synergies, and Tactical Decrees add further combos. Everything from deployment to recruitment works with a mouse alone, though a keyboard is needed for text input.
For playing with friends, Rival Match lets you enter a code and fight your friends online in real time. Gunshi Chronicle is an asynchronous mode where you challenge other players' saved formations at your own pace and climb the ranks. Board Performance is a tactical drill mode where clear rates for all stages are shown globally. Global matching covers Japan, Asia, and the West.
What to know before starting
Matches are designed to finish in about 10 minutes, and the game is in Early Access, so modes and the warlord roster may change through updates. Cost management matters: you can carry resources between rounds, and picking weaker units early can pay off later. Every loss has a clear reason behind it, so reading formations and skill interactions is where the improvement comes from. Battles play out automatically once deployment ends, so the pre-battle placement phase is where you spend your attention.
