A containment breach, seen from five sides
SCP: Secret Laboratory drops you into Site-02, an SCP Foundation emergency containment site, right after a catastrophic breach has let multiple SCP subjects out of their cells. Facility personnel scramble to evacuate while waiting for Mobile Task Forces to arrive, Class-D prisoners make a run for freedom, and the Chaos Insurgency moves in with its own orders. Nothing about the outcome is fixed — the whole match is that argument playing out in real time. You spawn as one of five human classes (Scientist, Class-D Personnel, Facility Guard, Mobile Task Force, Chaos Insurgency) or as one of the SCPs, and your goals differ completely from almost everyone else's. Scientists work with Facility Guards and the Mobile Task Force, using equipment and wits to escape. Class-D start with nothing and will do anything to get out. Facility Guards are under-equipped first responders trying to buy time. Mobile Task Force are re-containment specialists sent in to restore order and evacuate Scientists. The Chaos Insurgency attacks Foundation sites, kills Foundation personnel, and tries to rescue Class-D for the information they carry. As an SCP, the aim is simpler: kill everything.
Playing it with your group
Everyone in a Discord call can be in the same round, but you will rarely share a team or even a side — that is the point. One friend might be a Scientist picking through Light Containment Zone while another is an SCP hunting in Heavy Containment Zone, and a third drops in as Mobile Task Force through a Surface Zone insertion point. Coordination matters more than aim: guards hold doors and cover Scientist escapes, Mobile Task Force and Scientists evacuate together, Chaos Insurgency pushes toward the same targets Foundation players are trying to protect. Calling out positions, bulkhead states and who is where in the facility over voice is what turns a random lobby into a plan. Steam Achievements give your group something to chase across rounds, and Steam Cloud keeps your progress synced.
Know before you start
Site-02 is a sprawling maze split into four zones: Light Containment (Scientists and Class-D), Heavy Containment (the SCPs), Entrance Zone (Facility Guards), and Surface Zone (the evacuation point plus MTF and Chaos insertion). The site fights back — Tesla Gates electrocute anything caught in the blast, emergency bulkheads can temporarily block a threat behind a fleeing target, and an on-site nuclear warhead can vaporise the entire underground section. Expect sudden deaths from both other players and facility hazards, expect rounds where your side has no way to win, and expect to learn the layout by dying in it a few times. It's a free-to-play multiplayer horror game with PvP on every side, so read the room before you trust anyone.
