A nuclear zone that keeps taking

MISERY drops you into the Republic of Zaslavie as part of a PMC guarding the secret SIRZEZ research institute, the place built before the war to study anomalies and artifacts. Those artifacts sparked the conflict between military blocs that ended in nuclear war. The run starts with a siren and 60 seconds to grab what you can before the bomb lands, then you drop into the bunker and the real survival begins. Each day you head back out into a procedurally generated Exclusion Zone: abandoned military bases, research stations, radioactive wastelands, ruined cities. The Zone hides secrets, traps, and radiation, plus survivors who will kill for food, mutated creatures with their own behaviors, and anomalies nobody fully understands. Some phenomena help, others tear you apart, and anomaly areas often hold artifacts — rare items warped by the Zone with unique effects.

Playing it as a group

MISERY is built for 1 to 10 players in online co-op, so your whole Discord crew can run raids together. Split up to cover more ground, watch each other's backs against bandits and mutants, and pool what you scavenge. Back at the bunker you expand room by room, install generators (gas, solar, or gnome-powered), build crafting stations, grow food, cook meals, and drag home furniture to decorate — a table, a dresser, a worn-out sofa, a rug. After a raid, the basement bar of the institute is where the group unwinds: have a drink, talk to other survivors, and trade loot and artifacts with the merchant. The loop rewards coordination — go out looting during the day, get back to the bunker before nightfall.

What to know before starting

Watch your vitals. Hunger, thirst, and radiation sickness can kill, and stress has its own danger: too much and you start hearing whispers, seeing things that aren't there, feeling someone watching you. Lose your grip and you can turn on your teammates, and the bunker won't save you from that. Expect a rogue-lite structure where each run into the Zone reshapes the map, so no two raids play the same. The tone is survival horror with PvE focus — the threats are the environment, the anomalies, the mutants, and other survivors, not other players.
