A Co-op Survival Horror Campaign
Necrosis: Dawn of Dread is a first-person survival horror game built for up to four players. The campaign spans 17 unique missions and 15+ hours of content, taking your squad through large environments overrun by the undead. The design draws from late 90s and early 2000s survival horror, so expect weighty movement, limited ammo, and enemies that punish careless play. This is not an arcade shooter; every bullet matters, and you will need to scavenge supplies, manage your inventory, and solve layered puzzles under pressure. Enemy placement, item locations, and some puzzles are randomized each session, so no two runs play out the same way.
Playing Together as a Squad
Teamwork is the core of the experience. Each character has a distinct role, ability, and weapon, and your group will need to cover each other's weaknesses to survive. Combat characters bring high damage and frontline power, Scouts handle mobility and exploration, and Medics keep everyone alive. You can stun enemies to create openings, execute weakened zombies to save ammo, and combine abilities with teammates for maximum effect. Communication matters, and the game includes an automatcher queue with VOIP and text chat to help your group coordinate.
Extra Modes and What to Expect
Beyond the main campaign, a free DLC update adds new content. The Sewer mission is asymmetric: one player takes the role of mission control, watching teammates through security cameras and controlling doors and traps to prevent deadly mistakes. Last Stand is a defense mode where you hold out against escalating waves, securing supply trucks to earn resources you can spend on weapons, ammo, and NPC reinforcements. There is also a new Oil Rig mission and two additional playable characters. If you prefer to play alone, a single-player mode with AI teammates is available, along with multiple difficulty settings. The game has no microtransactions or DRM.
