What Destropolis is

Destropolis is a top-down twin stick shooter set in a futuristic city filled with red, cube-like enemies. You fight an endless wave of them, tearing them apart with bullets, lasers and nuclear explosions until they overwhelm you. The whole environment is destructible: every object, enemy and building can be smashed into pieces. You can blow up buildings, hide behind them as cover, or dismantle enemies bit by bit. The runs are built on procedural generation, so the layout and the fight change each time. It draws on classics like Crimsonland, Alien Shooter and Nuclear Throne, and it leans hard into bullet hell territory with dense swarms and heavy firepower.

Playing it together

You can go in alone or bring friends in local co-op for up to 3 players. Everyone fights the same endless swarm in the shared city, and since the buildings and cover are destructible, one player's rocket can reshape the arena for the whole group. Remote Play Together is supported, so a friend can join your session even without owning the game. There are global leaderboards if your group wants to compare runs against players elsewhere.

Guns, enemies and upgrades

There are 15 guns to work with: shotguns, assault rifles and machine guns for shredding, missiles and nuclear launchers for clearing whole battlefields with fire, and lasers and gauss guns that cut straight through enemies. On top of that you get 12 power-ups and 40 skills that boost health, damage or movement speed, let you place turrets, create force fields, trigger nuclear explosions, or confuse enemies so they start shooting each other.

The enemy roster has 6 types and they behave very differently. Cubes swarm and hurt up close. Obelisks fire lasers. Bomb spheres explode on contact. Pyramids lob artillery from range. Wrecking balls smash everything in their path. Big hexagonal bosses show up with massive machine guns. Learning which of these is closing in is most of the survival skill.

Before you start

This one is tagged as difficult, and the design is score attack and survival: you destroy as many enemies as you can before the swarm wins. Expect to die and restart, with each run handing you different guns, skills and power-ups. The look is clean and minimalistic with aggressively colored enemies, strong explosions and lighting, and a synth-wave soundtrack by LukHash blending chiptune, synthwave and EDM.
