A side scrolling shooter with a lot of build depth

CounterAttack: Uprising is a side scrolling space shooter where you fly a ship through dense enemy fire and bosses. The Automations, machines built by humanity, have turned on their creators, and the Experimental Space Fighter program is the last line of defense. The campaign branches across 32 levels with secret wormhole paths and 31 bosses, plus 3 endless survival stages: a horizontal flood, a vertical flood, and a procedurally generated wave mode. Four difficulties run from Easy to Very Hard, and the modes range from casual save-as-you-go to hardcore with no extra lives.

Playing together

Everything in the game works in co-op: all levels, modes, leaderboards, and difficulties. You can play 1-4 player locally or 2-8 players online, with cross-platform play. Support attachments and Auras let you buff the ships around you, while free-for-all powerup settings turn pickups into a race. If your ship dies, you become a turret on a surviving teammate and keep shooting. Remote Play Together is supported for sharing a local session.

Ship building and pilots

There are over 600 attachments, including engine turbos, support fighters, auras, weapon replacements, attack drones, weapon modifiers, shields, evasion, and critical hit chance. Weapons combine into new abilities with millions of possible combinations, and you can share builds through the Workshop or load ones made by other players. Eight pilots each bring a unique ship, ultimate, and innate ability: Ayumi with Tactical Nuke and Analysis, Biff with Big Biff Laser and Big Boy, Marcus with Mesonwave and Meson Blades, Joe with Overcharge and Action Joe, Sarah with Quantium Shield and Survivor, Sloane with Fighter Squadron and a Sloane Aura, Carl with Plasma Strike and Rocker, and Jinx with Hack Wave and Autorekt.

Editors and custom content

Built-in level and campaign editors let you make your own stages, and everything you make plays in local and online co-op with the same modes and difficulties as the base game. Custom content unlocks attachments at lower rates than the main campaign, so you can experiment with builds without grinding through the campaign first. The Workshop holds player-made levels and campaigns to jump into.
