What Birds of War is

Birds of War is a team-based aerial PvP game where you play as a bird defending a nest full of eggs. Matches run 3v3v3: nine birds, three nests, one goal. The team with the most eggs in their nest when the match ends wins. You raid enemy nests, pull out their eggs, carry them back to your own, and hold your nest while the rest of the map falls apart around you. Combat is melee-first and physics-driven, so hits ragdoll birds into trees and off ledges. It runs in Unreal Engine 5 and started as a joke meme from late 2025 about a fake bird game that did not exist.

How your group plays it together

Your group splits across three teams of three, so a full lobby of nine covers a whole match. Pick from four birds at launch: Crow works as a stealth assassin, Hummingbird is built for speed, Shoebill is the tank, and Pigeon plays support with UAV-style marking. Each bird plays differently, so a squad that mixes roles can cover raiding, carrying, and nest defense at the same time. Matches are fast and chaotic, which suits short sessions where everyone jumps in and out.

The voice chat changes everything

Proximity chat is active in every game and your mic is always hot. Enemies hear you as clearly as you hear them, so callouts leak both ways. You will hear an enemy before you see them, and they will hear you panicking when a Crow runs off with your last egg. Plan your plans accordingly, or enjoy the chaos when a plan survives contact.

Before you start

The shop sells nothing that makes a bird hit harder or fly faster, so everyone fights on equal footing. Character customization is available for the look of your bird. Expect ragdoll physics to make eliminations messy and unpredictable, and expect the game to change over time as it grows with the Discord community behind it.
