What Pigeon Protocol is

Pigeon Protocol is a third-person bird game where you fly, glide and fight as a pigeon. The matches are built around three things: building nests, claiming territory, and holding onto shiny things. You get around with flying and gliding mechanics, and you fight with your claws and beak to keep other birds off you. The whole thing plays out in 3D with a cartoony, cute look, so matches stay light even when they get chaotic. It's tagged as casual and funny, and the combat is the kind where everyone is pecking at everyone at once.

Playing it as a group

You can play with up to 10 of your friends in one online session, and the game is built around online PvP, so the lobby fills up with people you actually know. There are 5 game modes to pick from, covering nest building, fighting over shiny things, and battles over territory, so a group can switch modes depending on what kind of chaos they want that night. There are 4 different maps to choose from as well, which keeps repeat sessions from feeling the same. Pick a mode, pick a map, and let the flock sort itself out.

Before you start

Spend a minute on your bird's look before the first match. You can give yourself a custom name, pick hats, and set custom colors, which matters more than it sounds — in a packed fight with up to 10 players, the birds that stand out are the ones you can track. Expect combat to be a constant factor: claws and beak are how you defend yourself and hold enemies at bay, so territory and shinies are never free for long. Controller support is listed, so you can play on either input. The game is free to play, so getting the whole group in is a short job.
