A vertical sci-fi extraction shooter
Legend Battles is a free-to-play extraction battle royale built on Unreal Engine 5.6. You deploy from the Siege-Breaker Flagship in a jet suit and fight across a handcrafted 500 km² neo-futuristic world called Neo-Terra, plus the continent of Bellona and the island of Aurora. The setting is dense megacities full of interiors, basements, parking lots, rooftops, cranes and stationary spaceships, so fights happen on many vertical levels rather than only in open streets. Environments and vehicles are destructible, and the weather shifts between thunderstorms, tornadoes and bombing raids during a match.
Playing together with your group
The game supports solo PvE, co-op PvE and PvPvE, and matches are played against AI opponents as well as other players. Four specialist roles shape how a squad works: Bulwark, Mobility, Engineering and Ordnance. Pick up weapons on the ground, at purchase stations and from airdrops, and bring a medical kit, since the map is large enough to get lost in. A typical run has four objectives: attack alien teleportation machines to cut off their contact with headquarters, defend vehicle purchase stations to unlock armored vehicles, loot quantum barrels from alien stations to power your telecommunication towers, and reach the helicopter landing pad for extraction back to the Stellar Siege-Breaker. Traversal tools include zip lines, parachutes, teleportation and destructible vehicles that can hit 400 km/h, so squads can move vertically and fast.
What to know before starting
The game is in Early Access, so mechanics and performance are still being tuned; version 1.1 brought FPS optimizations and improved NPC mechanics. The arsenal ranges from tactical knives and combat guitars to assault rifles, submachine guns, heavy machine guns, flamethrowers, grenade launchers, RPG-7s, laser-guided bombs and ICBMs. Enemy forces include giant ET-ACUs, tanks, drones, UFOs, armored aliens, extraterrestrial invaders with C-4, and monsters whose claws and bites can be fatal. Vehicles take partial or full damage and can become bombs under fire. There are no microtransactions: Battle Coins are earned in combat and spent in stores, and cosmetic items can be sold on the Steam Community Marketplace. Modes range from solo Simulation to high-stakes Abyss Operations, and every victory advances the Global Progress Bar.
