What Slopecrashers is
Slopecrashers is an arcade snowboard racer with a cast of cartoon animals chasing a globe-trotting shot at the championship. You pick a rider, grab a board — or a frying pan, since there are 38 wacky boards to choose from — and carve down courses that mix racing with stunts and power-ups. The tracks come in 20 varieties and span snowy peaks, tropical islands, sand, and cyberpunk skylines, so a session rarely looks the same twice.
Races lean on a stunt and combo system: land tricks, chain them together, and the boosts you earn change how a race plays out. Alongside that sit 25 tools, including jetpacks, grappling hooks, and rocket thrusters, plus collectible power-ups that cause explosions, summon moles, and generally mess with whoever's ahead. If the chaos gets tiring, there are item-free and opponent-free modes to strip the race back to pure riding.
Playing it as a group
Split-screen runs every mode locally for 4 players, so one screen covers the whole couch. Online races go up to 8, and Remote Play Together lets a friend join from their own setup when the group can't share a room. That covers Grand Prix cups, Arcade tournaments, races, slaloms, stunt shows, and boss battles — nothing is locked to solo play.
For a group that wants to compete on equal footing, Grand Prix mode spreads 7 cups across a trophy run, while Arcade mode lets you build a tournament out of custom race types. Campaign mode offers 126 handcrafted events for anyone who wants to work through the content at their own pace rather than race the group.
Before you start
Slopecrashers is easy to pick up but has depth to chase: the trick and combo systems reward practice, and the tools add a layer of timing on top of racing lines. Expect a game that's built for both quick party rounds and longer sessions working through the campaign.
There's plenty to personalize — 9 voice-acted animal riders, around 90 customization options, and the full board roster — so everyone in the group can end up looking distinct. Online play needs an internet connection; split-screen does not.
