Downhill longboarding with Eddy the sloth

Driftwood puts you on a longboard as Eddy, a sloth who is anything but slow. You carve down a mountainside at high speed, drifting through corners to keep control while carrying momentum. The core loop is simple: drift tight turns to avoid cars and obstacles, pull off tricks to build your score, and find the balance between raw speed and staying on the board. The scenery is stylized and cartoony, with relaxing music running underneath the action.

Playing together as a group

You can skate solo and chase your own best runs, or host a lobby with up to 8 friends in the p2p multiplayer mode. Online leaderboards let everyone compare runs and see who posts the highest score. Since scoring comes from tricks and clean drifting, a group session works well as a score attack: each person takes a run, posts a number, and the rest of the lobby tries to beat it. There is no story campaign or set of obligations, so a group can drop in, skate, and swap the spotlight without waiting on objectives.

What to know before starting

Driftwood is a focused, contained experience rather than an open-world game. You travel to newly unlocked islands with your van, and there are 15+ levels to skate and drift through. Points unlock new boards, which you can pair with different wheels for different skating styles, and Eddy picks up clothes along the way. The game is built around drifting and flow, so there are no freestyle skateboarding tricks to learn. Expect a minimalist package from a small team of one artist and one programmer, with the emphasis on the downhill ride itself.
