Everyone is invisible
Screencheat is a split-screen first-person shooter where every player is invisible. The only way to spot an opponent is to look at their screen and read the environment around them. Maps are built for this: colour-coded areas, statues, paintings and furniture act as landmarks, and air vents and trampolines move you around the arena. Combat is fast, and every weapon kills in one hit.
Playing together
The game supports local split-screen and online multiplayer for up to eight players, including a mix of both. There are nine modes, from Deathmatch to Murder Mystery, and you can play in teams or all against all. When your group is not around, solo time trials and AI bots let you learn the maps and practice. Remote Play Together is available for playing online with friends.
Weapons and tells
The arsenal ranges from the dependable Blunderbuss to the Hobby Horse and the Chefolet, plus oddities like a car engine that shoots bouncing plasma balls and a teddy bear loaded with explosives. Each weapon has its own advantages and disadvantages, and each leaves a tell behind: smoke from the Blunderbuss, a trail of fire from the Hobby Horse. Reading those tells is how you find an invisible target.
Customisation and mutators
You can tune matches in detail: choose which weapons are allowed, set when they can be swapped or reloaded, apply time limits, adjust victory conditions and add penalties. Mutators stack on top of that, including slow mode, low gravity and flappy jump. There are 11 maps to learn, so expect a learning curve before your group settles on the settings it likes.
