A Retro FPS Rebuilt for Today
Prodeus is a first-person shooter that blends classic boomer shooter aesthetics with modern rendering technology. It aims to capture the fast-paced, tech-limited feel of older hardware while delivering the visual quality expected from a modern game. The result is a mix of lo-fi pixel art and high-tech particle effects, creating a distinct look for its sci-fi, horror-themed setting. The gameplay focuses on nonstop action, blasting through hordes of chaos-spawned creatures with an arsenal of over-the-top weapons. The game also features a gory dismemberment system, splattering the environment with enemy blood, and a supercharged metal soundtrack by Andrew Hulshult that dynamically changes to match the on-screen action.
Playing Together
Prodeus offers several ways to play with friends. You can tackle the hand-crafted campaign together in 4-player online co-op. For competitive play, the game includes classic multiplayer modes like 16-player Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and CTF. Beyond the standard modes, players can create and share custom game modes to change up the experience.
Content and Customization
The game includes a powerful yet easy-to-use level editor, allowing players to design their own maps. A built-in community map browser lets you jump straight into these user-created levels, providing nearly limitless content beyond the main campaign. This toolset keeps the combat fresh by constantly adding new environments to explore and fight through.
