A cooking game built for chaos
Overcooked! 2 sends your team of chefs back into the Onion Kingdom, where a new threat called The Unbread has shown up after you dealt with the Ever Peckish. The job stays the same: prep, cook, plate and serve before the orders pile up. You'll work through new recipes including sushi, cakes, burgers and pizzas, moving across a new overworld map by land, sea and air. The kitchens themselves are the twist — sushi restaurants, magic schools, mines and alien planets, each with its own layout and hazards.
Playing together
You can play with up to four players, either on the same couch or online. The goal is to rack up the highest score, and the game lets you work together or compete against each other, so a group can split into teams or all fight for the top spot. Shared/split screen and online play both cover co-op and versus, which means a group can mix and match depending on who's in the room and who's joining remotely. Remote Play on phone, tablet and TV is available too, along with Remote Play Together, so someone can jump in from another device. Single-player is on the table if you end up running a kitchen alone.
What the kitchens throw at you
The levels are built to disrupt a tidy plan. Ingredients get thrown across the room to save time, teleporters move chefs around, and moving platforms carry them between stations. Some kitchens shift and evolve mid-service, and some whisk your chefs off to an entirely new location partway through. Expect to adapt on the fly rather than settle into a fixed routine.
Before you start
Set up your group first — decide whether you're going co-op or versus, and whether everyone is local or online, since that changes how you arrange the session. Controller support is full, so any mix of players on pads works. Steam Achievements and Steam Cloud are there if you care about tracking progress, and Steam Trading Cards and Family Sharing round out the extras. The tone is light and comedic, but the coordination gets genuinely demanding once kitchens start moving under your feet.
