Cooking for the Onion Kingdom
Overcooked is a top-down cooking game where you prepare, cook and serve orders before the customers walk out. You journey through a series of cruel and unusual kitchens on a quest to become master chefs capable of conquering an ancient edible evil that plagues the land. The levels keep changing the rules: you might slide around on a pirate ship, move between speeding trucks, cook on an ice floe or serve food in the bowels of a fiery underworld. Each level brings a new challenge for you and your team to overcome.
Playing together on the couch
The game supports one to four players in local co-op, and it also works through Remote Play Together. Everyone takes a role in the kitchen and has to talk through who chops, who cooks and who plates. The controls are simple enough that anyone can join in, but the real test comes when the orders pile up and you have to coordinate while the pizza hits the fan. Along the way you unlock new levels, new chef characters and competitive challenge levels where teams of two go head-to-head in the kitchen.
Before you start
You can play solo or with up to four people in both co-operative and competitive challenge modes. The difficulty ramps up as the kitchens get more bizarre, so expect levels that push your co-operation and co-ordination to the limit. It is easy to pick up, but clearing the later kitchens takes a team that can communicate under pressure.
