A comedy platformer about chasing yourself

No Time To Explain Remastered is a 2D platformer built around time paradoxes. Your future self shows up, shouts at you to follow, and then things go wrong almost immediately. From there you chase that future self across time and alternate realities, fighting giant monsters along the way. The store text describes it as a comedy platformer with voice acting, a soundtrack, and gameplay that gets more ridiculous as it goes. The Remastered version was rebuilt from the ground up in Unity and is how the game was originally intended to play.

Playing together

This version adds local multiplayer, and it also supports Remote Play Together, so friends can join in over a connection rather than sitting at the same machine. You take on different versions of yourself from the future, each with its own way of moving: blasting, beaming, slingshotting and catapulting through fire, acid and fairy-cakes. The Future Cannon doubles as a gun and a jetpack, which is the core tool for getting around. Expect to coordinate movement and cover each other while the levels throw hazards and enemies at the group.

What to know before starting

The game is tagged as difficult, so levels will push your gun-gliding and platforming rather than hold your hand. There are 60 wearable hats hidden around the levels, and wearing them unlocks dance moves, which gives the group a reason to poke around off the main path. Bosses include giant monsters from alternate timelines, alien crabs, sharks, and an evil alternate version of yourself. The package also includes a built-in level editor for making and sharing your own stages, plus a fully original soundtrack. The store text notes that the Remastered version is free for anyone who owns the original.
