A hand-crafted action RPG with weighty combat

No Rest for the Wicked is an isometric Action RPG from Moon Studios, the team behind Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps. You play as a Cerim, a mystical holy warrior fighting the Pestilence, an ancient plague that has returned to the isle of Sacra in the year 841 TE. The game is currently in Early Access.

Combat is Souls-like and deliberate: every strike matters, and each weapon has its own move set so you can feel its weight and speed. You will face gruesome creatures, enemy soldiers, and punishing bosses. Between fights you can enchant weapons, craft rare armor, and put together builds that suit how you like to play. A pool of loot including weapons, armor, and runes gives you plenty to hunt for as you explore the hand-crafted world.

Playing together in online co-op

The whole campaign can be shared with up to three friends in seamless online co-op, for up to four players total. There is no separate co-op mode; you get the full game shared, covering every quest, boss, and corner of Isola Sacra. You can also head out alone whenever you want and explore at your own pace.

Multiple difficulty options, called Realm Tiers, let the group settle on a level that fits your style, whether you are there for the story or the full combat challenge. The island itself changes over time, with new events, vendors, and challenges appearing as days pass, so there is always something new to run into together.

What to know before starting

Expect a demanding combat system that rewards strategy and timing rather than button mashing. Death is part of the loop, so be ready to learn enemy patterns and come back stronger. The world is dense with secrets; forests and dungeons hide treasure in unlikely spots, so exploring thoroughly pays off.

Outside of fighting, you can harvest wood, ore, and food, cook meals that restore health and boost stats, fish, and till the land. The city of Sacrament is your hub, where you can buy property, furnish and decorate it, upgrade gear, stash loot, and get to know the vendors and townsfolk. Everything in the game is earned through play, with no microtransactions or shortcuts.
