What Cloudheim is
Cloudheim is a third-person action RPG set in a world broken apart by Ragnarok. You play as a Runari, summoned by Odin Shell — an ancient turtle — to restore what was left behind. Combat is fast and physics-driven: you chain abilities together, smash pillars down onto monsters, lasso enemies into tornadoes, kick exploding barrels into a fight, or fire Greebles out of cannons. The world reacts and breaks around you, so fights tend to get messy in a good way. Between battles you explore islands and handcrafted dungeons that rearrange each visit, solve puzzles, and pick up loot to craft with.
Playing it with your group
Cloudheim supports online co-op with up to four players, so one person hosts and the rest join in. Everything you unlock — weapons, abilities, new playable Runari — is shared across the group, which means nobody has to grind alone to keep up. Team combos are the point: one player can lasso an enemy into place while another sends them flying, and abilities stack into brutal group attacks. There's also an option called Unbridled Chaos that lets you lasso your friends mid-fight, if your group enjoys that kind of thing.
Crafting uses a visual system, so a friend working at the forge never locks anyone out of the game while they sit in a menu. You can split up too: some players can run dungeons while others stock the shop, fill orders, and grow your reputation in the skies.
Before you start
Cloudheim is in Early Access, so expect things to change and be aware the game isn't finished yet. It works solo as well, but the co-op features are built around playing with others online. The loop mixes hack-and-slash combat with building and crafting: you forge weapons and gear to use or sell, fund your journey through your shop, and grow your home on Odin Shell over time. There's also fishing, which the developers describe as a very important feature.
