What Fly Punch Boom: First Impact! is

First Impact is the demo of Fly Punch Boom!, a fast 2D anime fighter from Jollypunch Games. You fly at high speed, smash opponents through skyscrapers, whales and asteroids, and finish fights with over-the-top super moves. The whole point is the impact itself: uppercuts that send people flying, faces deforming on impact, and stages where everything works as a trap or a weapon. Fights end with stage fatalities, and there are more than 40 of them in the full game, ranging from getting mauled by cats to breaking the planet in half. The camera zooms from space down to a character's face to sell the scale of the hit. It's an action indie title tagged as free to play, with an anime soundtrack by Giorgiost.

Playing it together as a group

The game supports up to 4 players locally and 2 online, so a group can sit on one couch or join over the network. Local multiplayer uses controllers, and Remote Play Together is available for sharing a session with friends who don't have the game installed. Matches are competitive: everyone is out to knock the others through the scenery and land the biggest finish. The destructible stages keep the arena changing mid-fight, since buildings and objects break apart and can be turned against whoever is standing in the wrong place.

Before you start

This is a demo, so it shows a slice of the full game rather than the complete package. Arcade mode, unlockables, secrets and workshop support for making and playing infinite characters belong to the full release. Expect a cartoon style with exaggerated violence and crude humor rather than realistic fighting. The pacing is quick and the controls reward aggressive, airborne play, so a short round already produces a lot of chaos.
