What Fly Punch Boom! is
Fly Punch Boom! is a 2D anime fighter built around one idea: hit your opponent so hard that everything around them breaks. You fly at high speed, ram people through skyscrapers, whales and asteroids, and finish fights with over-the-top super moves. The stages are destructible, so every piece of scenery works both as a trap and as a weapon you can slam someone into. Fights end with stage fatalities — more than 40 of them — where you can get mauled by cats, split the planet in half, or blow up the moon. The camera zooms from space down to a character's deformed face, and the whole thing is drawn in a high-impact cartoon style with an anime soundtrack by Giorgiost.
Playing it with your group
The game supports up to 4 players locally and 2 players online, so you can crowd around one screen or take the fight over the internet. Remote Play Together is available, which means someone without the game can join your session through streaming. Matches are competitive PvP, and the destructible stages keep rounds unpredictable — no two fights end the same way when the scenery keeps changing. If your group likes making things, workshop support lets you create your own characters and play with an effectively infinite roster made by the community.
Before you start
Solo players get an arcade mode with unlockables and secrets to chase, so there is something to do when the group is not around. A controller is supported, which suits a fighting game where you will be pulling off flying smashes and special moves under pressure. Expect a loud, chaotic tone: the game leans into anime tropes and cartoon violence rather than realistic combat, and the fun comes from being as over-the-top as possible, not from tight technical play. If your group wants a fighter that rewards spectacle as much as winning, this is the right pick.
