A platformer where you only rotate

Flipping is Hard puts you in control of Flippy, a phone with no legs. Your only tools are rotation and a vibration jump, so every climb is a matter of timing your spin and committing to the arc. Small mistakes send you a long way down, and the goal is simple: reach the top across 10 different areas and get back to Jeff. The story runs through the climb — Little Jeff slipped on a banana peel and Flippy went flying into a storm drain, and now they are separated. The movement is hard to master, and falling is a normal part of the process rather than a sign you are doing it wrong.

Playing together online

Online Co-op lets you struggle alongside up to 16 friends. You can help each other using beams and microwaves, and proximity chat means the yelling gets louder as everything goes wrong. The co-op is built around shared failure as much as shared progress, so expect a lot of watching friends drop at the worst possible moment. There is also a singleplayer route if you would rather master the flip alone and take in the story at your own pace.

Options before you start

Chill Mode is optional and turns checkpoints on, which makes the climb more forgiving if you want the story with less suffering. Leave it off for the punishing version. The game is also speedrun friendly, with quick restarts and built-in splits. Along the way there are 16 NPCs offering side challenges that test your movement and only pay out if you complete them, plus customization for Flippy through phone cases, charms and stickers. You can also find and play classic mobile games tucked inside the game itself. The warning is straightforward: this one tests your patience, and falling is part of the challenge.
