A first-person fishing trip with threats
Fishing Grind is a first-person fishing game for one to six players set in the North American wilderness. You start with almost nothing and work your way up, collecting rods, lures, and hooks as you go. The developers took a less realistic approach to the fishing mechanics on purpose, which keeps the systems simple enough to pick up quickly while still giving experienced players something to sink into. The locations are not all peaceful. Some spots are relatively safe, others hold bears, sharks, and other people who will push back hard. The game is in Early Access, so expect things to change over time.
Fishing together in a lobby
You can play solo or join a lobby with up to five friends, six players in total. Everyone shares the same trip, so you can split up across the environments, cover more water, and watch each other's backs when a spot turns dangerous. There is also online PvP available if your group wants to compete instead of cooperate. The co-op and PvP modes are both online, so your group needs to be connected to play together.
What to know before starting
Fishing Grind carries Gore and Violent tags alongside Survival Horror and Perma Death, so the threat in the unsafe locations is not played for laughs. Treat every trip as a real risk: the fish are the goal, but the environment can end your run. The game is Free To Play and still in Early Access, which means mechanics, balance, and content can shift as development continues. The developers run a Discord server for bug reports and feature requests if you run into issues or want to weigh in.
