A fishing hangout you can run in a browser

WEBFISHING is a casual fishing game built around chatting as much as casting. You fish at the camp, work through a journal of nearly 100 creatures, and keep going after the rare ones. The range is wide: small snails, up to the biggest sharks. Filling out the journal is the main long-term push, since each catch is something new logged rather than just another fish sold.

Money from your catches feeds back into better gear, and special rewards come along the way. It's a relaxed loop, not a demanding one, which makes it easy to pick up for an evening and just as easy to drop back into later.

Playing together in the camp

The game is designed around being social, with other players and strangers sharing the camp. You fish side by side, spot hidden spots together, and swap the kind of conversation fishing games always end up producing, fish puns included.

Alongside fishing there are toys and tools to mess around with, which is where the sandbox side comes in. You can play a real guitar, draw with chalk, and punch your friends. These are the things that give the camp its personality when nobody feels like casting.

Customizing your character and your gear

Progress splits in two directions. Gear upgrades cover baits, lures, and rods, each one changing how you fish. Cosmetics and props cover how you look, so your character can show some personality while standing next to everyone else at the water.

Before you start

There's no pressure to fish optimally. The game rewards showing up, hanging out, and chipping away at the journal at whatever pace suits the group. If you want a goal, chase the rare catches; if you want an evening of guitar and chalk instead, the camp works for that too.
