A creepy-cozy fishing trip in the bayou

Voodoo Fishin' is a 1–6 player online co-op fishing game set in a haunted swamp. You craft your puppet angler, head out from the dock, and fish through the bayou for rare and legendary fish. The deeper you push into the swamp, the stranger things get, and the swamp hunts back. It starts chill and stops being chill fast. If you die, the swamp keeps your catch and any Tackle you had equipped, so getting back to safety with your haul is the real job. When you do make it back alive, the Fish Monger pays by the pound.

Playing it together with your group

Everyone plays in the same session as online co-op, with proximity voice chat built in. That means you hear the people near you in the swamp, so splitting up to cover more water changes what you can hear and who you can call for. You can fish together, laugh together, and try not to lose your haul on the run back. Group size runs from a solo trip up to six players, so a small Discord crew can jump in without needing to fill a lobby.

What to know before you start

Progression runs through your gear: upgrade Bait, Reels, and Rods to chase bigger and rarer fish. The game is self-hosted rather than run on corporate servers, so once you're in you can always jump back in with friends — no server shutdowns, no discontinued service, the swamp stays open as long as you can stay alive. Voodoo Fishin' is in Early Access, so expect things to still be taking shape. The demo gives you access to the full core gameplay systems but limits world exploration and higher-tier Tackle, so a demo session shows how it plays without showing the whole swamp.
