What Fishards Is
Fishards is a top-down arena shooter where you play as a two-legged fish wizard. The core of the game is a spell combining system: you have five elements at your disposal and you combine them into different spells. Learning which elements produce which spell, and being able to switch between spells quickly, is what separates a strong player from a weak one. Fights are fast-paced and built around skill-shots, so landing your spells matters more than soaking up damage.
The game is class-based and supports character customization, so you can settle on a look and a play style that suits you. Matches are competitive and team-based, with an eSports-oriented structure to the PvP.
Playing With Friends
Fishards supports online co-op and online PvP, so your group can queue up together. Because the game is team-based, coordinating with the friends you bring along matters: call out which elements you are combining, cover each other while casting, and keep an eye on how your team's spells complement one another. The spell system rewards communication, since knowing what your teammates are about to throw lets you set up combos rather than overlapping.
Before You Start
Expect a learning curve around the element combinations. Early matches will involve trial and error as you work out which five elements build which spells, and the speed of the fights means there is little time to fumble mid-combat. Practice switching between spells until it becomes second nature.
Visually, Fishards looks like a 2D game but is actually 3D models rendered at low resolution and scaled up, giving it a stylized, retro pixel appearance. The tone is deliberately wacky, so the fish wizards and their spells lean into the funny side of things even while the PvP stays competitive.
