What Spellsworn is

Spellsworn is a PvP arena game from Frogsong Studios, inspired by arena and player-versus-player classics like League of Legends, Super Smash Brothers, and the Warcraft 3 mod Warlocks. You play a spellcaster fighting for control over 5 rounds of battle in areas of power, in a world gripped by a war of magic. The goal each round is straightforward: reduce your enemies' health to 0 while keeping yours above zero. Matches are spell-filled and fast, so quick reflexes matter as much as picking the right tool for the moment.

Building your loadout

Before and during a fight you spend a limited amount of currency that increases throughout the game, so choosing your spells is a real decision. Your arsenal is split across 5 disciplines: Offensive, Defensive, Area, Utility, and Travel. Offensive options include Fireball and Meteor for direct damage, while Windwalk lets you slip through an opponent's attacks and Counter Pulse sends their spells back at them. Banish your summoned Rock Pillars when you no longer need them. The environment is ever-changing and poses as much of a threat as your opponent, so adaptation is just as important as a fast hand and a sharp mind.

Playing with your group

Spellsworn supports up to 8 players in multiplayer combat, and you can fight either alone or in teams. That makes it easy to drop into a session with friends from Discord and settle things across several rounds. Each of the 3 unique arenas has its own dangers and demands, so the same loadout will not serve you everywhere — expect to adjust between arenas and between rounds as the situation changes.

Before you start

Know that this is a competitive game where only the skilled and strong come out on top, so the first few matches are a learning curve for spell timings and arena hazards. Progression runs through battle: you gain experience as you play and level up to earn skins, weapons, and more. The game is tagged as Early Access, so expect the experience to still be shaped over time.
