Top-down tank battles

Ballistic Tanks is a 2D top-down twin stick shooter in the spirit of 80s tank games. You drive a tank around an arena and fill the screen with bullets, lasers, and explosions. The game runs across over 50 maps and 5 game modes, so the layout and rules change often. Modes include Deathmatch, a free-for-all brawl; Juggernaut, where one player becomes the Juggernaut; Powershift, which applies random gameplay modifiers; Airstrike, with planes and homing missiles; and an Arcade mode you can play solo or in co-op against countless enemies. Various power-ups drop in and change the fight while it is happening.

Playing together

Ballistic Tanks is built for 4-player local multiplayer on one screen. Everyone shares the same arena, so you can team up or turn on each other depending on the mode. The Arcade mode supports solo or co-op play against countless enemies when you want to work together instead of competing. Remote Play Together is available, which lets people join over a connection rather than sitting at the same machine. Keyboard and 4 controllers are supported, so a group can settle in with whatever gear they already have.

Before you start

Pick a mode that matches the mood: Deathmatch and Juggernaut are competitive, Powershift mixes in random modifiers, Airstrike brings planes and homing missiles into the mix, and Arcade is the co-op or solo option. The maps vary, so expect the terrain and cover to shift between rounds. Power-ups show up mid-match and can swing the fight, so keep an eye on the field while you shoot.
