A Carnival Run by a Six-Year-Old
Baldwin's Bear drops you into a hand-made carnival showground as Baldwin, a six-year-old girl with her eyes fixed on a pink stuffed bear. The only way to get it is to earn enough tickets, and the showgrounds give you plenty of ways to do that. You can wander the grounds in whatever order you like, picking up minigames as they catch your eye, or hunt for secret treasures hidden around the map. The sideshow staff are a mob of quirky characters who hand out bizarre, entertaining dialogue while pointing you toward what to do next. Each minigame stands apart from the last, from a fishing pool to a bouncy castle to a ghost train, and each one hides its own little tricks and secrets to uncover.
Playing Together in Versus Mode
Versus mode turns the ticket chase into a head-to-head race. A second player takes control of Baily, and both girls scramble to grab tickets and find secrets first. The minigames become direct competitions where you can sabotage each other, playing out like a classic party game. Split-screen multiplayer puts both players on screen at the same time, so you can watch your friend's moves and react in real time. Remote Play Together is supported, which lets a friend join in over a connection rather than sharing the same screen in person.
Before You Start
Baldwin's Bear is tagged as singleplayer at its core, so versus mode is the way to bring a second player in. The game carries a Family Friendly tag alongside Horror, Psychological Horror, and 2D tags, so the carnival has some darker corners mixed into the childlike wonder. Controller support is listed, and the game is Free To Play, so you can jump in and see whether the minigames and the ticket grind suit your group before committing to anything.
