A tabletop-style adventure about bringing joy

Baladins is a roleplaying adventure set in the bright fantasy world of Gatherac. You play one of the Baladins, wandering heroes who travel from town to town entertaining people, helping those in need, and throwing parties. The game takes its structure from tabletop roleplaying campaigns: you roll dice, make choices, and see where the story goes. Your decisions are not sorted into good and bad, just different approaches that can lead to different outcomes. The campaign can be played in short sessions, so you can pick it up and put it down without losing your place.

Playing together with your group

The game supports one to four players, either sitting together locally or playing online. Everyone's collective choices shape how the story unfolds, so the group decides together how to handle each situation. You pick from five classes: the imaginative Cook, the crafty Luxomancer, the strapping Dancer, the expressive Pyro, and the charismatic Bard. Each one has its own strengths and weaknesses, and characters grow over the course of the adventure as you make choices and collect items. Since the story can change wildly depending on what you pick each turn, two playthroughs rarely go the same way, and the campaign ends in multiple different places.

What to know before you start

Failure has a specific consequence here: every time you fail, the Dragon sends you back in time. Expect to retry and approach things differently rather than treating a setback as a dead end. The tone is lighthearted and colorful, with a medieval setting played for fun rather than grimness, and the game is written to suit players of all ages and experience levels, including people who have never touched a roleplaying game. Sessions are designed to be short, so a group can work through the campaign at its own pace over a longer stretch of time instead of committing to one long sitting.
