A physics-based flight through a dark forest
BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition is a side-scrolling action adventure platformer set in a hand-painted forest full of inhabitants, trees and flowers. The forest looks like a fairy tale, but something is wrong in it. You control one of the forest dwellers and fly through the world to find out what is going on. The gameplay is built on physics: you move left, right, up and down to stay aloft and get past an enormous number of imaginative traps, puzzles and obstacles. The single player campaign contains 100 unique levels, and the campaign as a whole takes over 15 hours.
Playing together in the same room
The game supports local multiplayer for up to four players, with both co-op and battle modes. There are 100 co-op levels and 27 battle levels on top of the campaign. Everyone can share a single keyboard in the old-school style, or you can mix keyboards and controllers in any combination. Full game controller support is included, and the controls were completely redesigned with full left, right, up and down movement, with every level modified to match.
What to know before starting
The game is tagged as difficult, so expect a real challenge rather than a relaxed stroll. It is atmospheric and physics-based, which means timing and momentum matter as much as reflexes. Beyond the campaign and the multiplayer levels, Level World contains over 40 000 community levels, and New Day adds a new level every one to two weeks during Eternal Day. The package includes 77 achievements, cloud save, Steam trading cards and leaderboards, running with enhanced, above Full-HD graphics.
