A 2D platformer with a big cast
Rayman® Origins is a side-scrolling platformer set in the Glade of Dreams, overrun by Darktoons. You play as Rayman, with Globox and the Teensies joining the adventure. The game includes over 60 levels, more than 100 characters, and 12 environments. Along the way you unlock new abilities such as swimming, diving, and the HairlyCopter, and you can revisit earlier levels to find new paths and secrets. Boss fights include a giant pink monster with hundreds of eyes, a possessed golem, and a carnivorous plant.
Playing together in co-op
Up to four players can play together, with one person as Rayman and up to three friends joining as Globox or one of the two Teensies. Players can jump in or out at any time without affecting the others' progression. The game also supports Remote Play Together, so friends can join over the internet. Note that Ubisoft Online Services were decommissioned on 25 January 2024, so online features are no longer available.
Before you start
Rayman Origins is built on the UBIart Framework, an open-source engine developed by Michel Ancel's team in Montpellier. The game blends platforming with action, adventure, and beat-'em-up elements, and it is tagged as difficult, so expect a challenge. It works with a controller and is described as family friendly and funny, with a notable soundtrack.
