A short open-world RPG with a 1990s look
Wizzerd Quest is a bite-sized open-world RPG set in the mysterious land of Wayword. Its look and feel sit somewhere between DOOM and Daggerfall, with a mid-1990s aesthetic, a full day-night cycle, and a voiced opening cutscene with cringe voice acting straight out of 1995. You get a main story quest that takes you all around the open world and takes about three hours to beat, 12 hand-crafted dungeons, 3 towns with facilities such as banks and traders, 8 enemy types plus two bosses, and over 40 NPCs with unique dialogue. Combat is PvE action RPG fare, and you can even attempt bartering with farm animals.
Playing together
The game has full split-screen co-op, so you and a friend can sit on the same screen and work through the world together. It also supports Steam's Remote Play Together, which lets a friend join your session over the internet as if you were sharing a couch. Classes are assigned dynamically based on leveling, and there are 6 classes in total, so each player's build takes shape as you play.
Before you start
The whole game is free with zero microtransactions, no network telemetry, and no invasive DRM. It is a full game rather than a demo, offered by Kondoorsoft to the community. Expect a linear main quest inside an open world, a 1990s presentation, and a run that clocks in around three hours.
