A 4vs1 hunt with two very different jobs
White Noise 2 is a first-person survival horror game where one player takes the role of the creature and the rest play investigators. The investigators explore an area, cooperate with each other, and try to collect 8 tapes before the creature finishes them off. The creature stalks its prey, tries to stay unseen, and works to pick the team apart. Death is not the end for an investigator: you rise as a ghost with enhanced exploration skills and keep helping the remaining players find their way.
Playing together as investigators or the creature
The game uses a simple matchmaking system that lets you play with your friends without complications. You enter the game, choose your side or leave it to luck, and start playing. As an investigator, staying close to your partners matters, since getting lost makes you easy prey. You also have to watch your sanity and your flashlight battery so you do not end up walking blind. As the creature, you stalk the team and hunt without being seen. Light can stun you, so you use your powers to avoid it and spread the investigators out to make easier targets. You can summon totems that warn you of nearby investigators and try to stop them from picking up the 8 tapes.
What to know before you start
You unlock new characters and flashlights as you play, including the classic White Noise Online characters. Each one has different specializations and skills, so you can pick a stealthy approach or focus on speed even while making noise, better flashlight battery, or improved exploration skills. After a session ends, the signature replay screen shows how the team walked in circles or how one of the investigators got lost.
