Large-scale VR conquest battles
War Dust VR is a first-person shooter built around 32v32 matches on expansive battlefields. The goal is conquest: capture control points and defeat enemy players while the map shifts around you. Battles take place across official maps and player-created maps, with day and night environments. Movement is built for getting around big areas quickly, with options for paragliding, flying, and driving vehicles. The game runs on four official servers — US East (default), EU, Asia, and Aus — so your group can pick the region with the best connection.
Playing together as a group
Your group joins the same team and works the control points together. Squad-based spawning lets you stay close to your friends instead of respawning alone across the map. Four classes — Assault, Engineer, Support, and Scout — give each person a distinct role, so you can split responsibilities rather than all doing the same thing. Five vehicle types add another layer: some players push on foot while others drive. The game is arcade style rather than a milsim, so the focus is balanced, fast action instead of realism.
What to know before starting
Every match on the Official Rotation fills to 64 soldiers, with bots covering any slots real players do not fill. Server rooms cap at 46 real players plus 18 bots, and additional rooms open as needed. Player counts vary by time of day, with the largest real-player crowds during peak hours and weekend events, so quieter hours will lean more on bots.
Locomotion has three options — thumbstick, pro-loco, and fitrun — and can be directed by controller or headset, with smooth or snap turning. You can play standing or sitting. Modding support covers Conquest and Team Deathmatch maps, public or password-protected servers, and Unity-compatible edits to maps, weapons, vehicles, and avatars through a template in the game file folder. The game has been updated regularly since May 20, 2022, though some players still report issues. Quest2 works through virtual desktop, with results depending on your setup.
