What TOKYO WARFARE is
TOKYO WARFARE is an arcade tank game where you drive modern and WWII tanks, plus APCs and AA vehicles, and blow things up. The main maps are real locations in Japan, such as the Osaka Naniwa ku area and the Tokyo Oi Container terminal, and the bonus maps cover deserts, winterlands, a steampunk/WW2 industrial area, German lawns, and a futuristic arena. Environments are fully destroyable, so fights leave a mess behind. You pick one of five factions — RU, CN, JP, DE, US and UK vehicles are spread across them — and work your way up through ranks to unlock tanks as you fight. Vehicle types range from light and medium tanks like the T34, Sherman and Cromwell, through heavy hitters like the KV2, Tiger I, Tiger II and Maus, up to modern main battle tanks such as the T90, T14, Type 10 and Challenger 2, with AA and APC support vehicles like the BTR, SA19 and Type 87AA in the mix.
Playing with your group
The game supports online PvP and online co-op, so your group can either square off against each other or team up against AI-bots. Co-op has been available since version 1.5. Matches run in online mode against other players or bots, and rank progression carries across your battles, so everyone can grind unlocks together or just jump into a quick fight. Because it's an arcade tank game rather than a simulation, the focus is on fast vehicular combat and knocking out opponents, not on realistic handling or long setup.
Visual presets and things to know before starting
Before you start, look at the visual presets: Classic, HD, Manga, I-tron and 90's arcade each change the look of the game in one click, and you can go further by picking individual filters and visual features — realistic or anime style explosions, anime visual FX, and more. That matters if your group can't agree on style, since the presets let anyone switch their own view quickly. Also worth knowing: the roster spans both WWII and modern vehicles, so a Tiger I and a T14 can end up in the same battle, and the map pool mixes real Japanese locations with fantasy industrial and futuristic arena maps. Pick a faction, pick a preset, and get rolling.
