Tanks from World War I to the Cold War

Panzer War is a tank warfare game with over 200 tanks, self-propelled guns and armored vehicles, all drawn from World War I through the Cold War era. Battles take place across a variety of battlefields, and there is no tech tree to climb or currency to farm: every vehicle is available from the start, so you can pick whatever you want to drive and get straight into a fight. A recent update added a new map, the Battle of Berlin.

The damage system is the core of how fights play out. In the default modular mode, hits land on specific vehicle components and crew members, and shrapnel can knock out parts of your tank, changing how it drives and shoots. You can also switch to HP mode, which simplifies the damage mechanics if you want something more straightforward.

Playing with your group

Online multiplayer gives you three ways to team up. Skirmish puts you in fast-paced battles against other players. Capture Zone has your team working together to hold strategic control points on the map. Party Mode is the loose option: chaotic matches with friends across a variety of custom game modes.

Offline, you can fight AI in Skirmish, run large-scale N vs N Blitzkrieg team battles where coordination decides the outcome, hold Capture Zone points, or replay iconic tank battles in Historical Mode with historically accurate scenarios.

Building your own content

The Tank and Map Designer lets you design custom tanks and battle maps for offline play, so you can set up whatever scenario you feel like running. On top of that, an in-game mod installer lets you browse, download and install community-made content, including new vehicles and maps, without leaving the game.

One thing to know before starting: there is an HDRP version offering next-generation graphics with advanced lighting, lifelike shadows and high-quality textures, but it is still a test version under development, so performance is still being optimized.
