Eight Super Bomber Man games in one package

This collection gathers 8 titles and 13 versions of Super Bomber Man, spanning Japanese, European and US releases. That includes the previously unreleased Super Bomber Man 4 and 5, which now come with English localised versions alongside the original Japanese. You also get the Japanese-only releases of Bomberman, Bomberman II and Panic Bomber W, the last of which has an English localisation available.

The stories run from Carat Diamond and Dr. Mook's robot army in the first game, through the Bomber Quintet's schemes in 2 and 3, to Terrorin's invasion in 5. Panic Bomber W stands apart as a competitive puzzle game for up to 4 players where chain reactions and Big Bombs fill a meter to attack your opponents.

Playing together in the same room

The Bomber Man series has always been about sitting on the same couch and blowing each other up, and this collection keeps that intact. It supports 4 player local multiplayer, so up to four of you can share a screen and drop bombs on each other. Remote Play Together is also available, which lets friends join in over the internet as if they were on the same sofa.

Alongside the competitive multiplayer, several titles include PvE and local co-op where you work together to clear stages and take down bosses. Bomberman II is noted for introducing versus play to the series, and Panic Bomber W is built entirely around four-player competitive puzzle battles. A controller is the way to go here, given the era these games come from.

Extras that make the older games easier to live with

Boss Rush mode lets you run through the bosses of each title back to back in a time attack. Panic Bomber W does not include this mode. Save and load at any point, plus a rewind function, means you can back out of a mistake without restarting a whole stage.

Screen filtering lets you adjust the resolution or apply filters to get the look you want out of the pixel graphics. BOMB Radio plays the original soundtracks from each game and lets you build your own playlists. The Gallery holds over 200 items of artwork and development materials to browse.
