Seven titles in one collection
SAMURAI SHODOWN NEOGEO COLLECTION brings together seven titles from the weapon-based fighting series that began on the NEOGEO in 1993. You get SAMURAI SHODOWN, SAMURAI SHODOWN II, SAMURAI SHODOWN III, SAMURAI SHODOWN IV AMAKUSA'S REVENGE, SAMURAI SHODOWN V, and SAMURAI SHODOWN V SPECIAL, plus SAMURAI SHODOWN V PERFECT, a final version of SAMURAI SHODOWN V SPECIAL that was never released to the public. Each game lets you pick between the Japanese or English MVS arcade versions. Arcade Mode can be set to FREE MODE, which removes game overs, and save functions are included along with optional scanlines for a retro look.
Playing together online
Every title includes Online Versus Battle Modes. Ranked Match pairs you with warriors of a similar level, while Casual Match is there for a more relaxed set. Challenge Friend lets you invite a friend or an opponent straight into a fight, so your group can settle things in the ring. Note that Online Versus Battle Modes are only available for the English versions of the SAMURAI SHODOWN titles.
Museum and Sound Player
Museum Mode holds over 2,000 development documents and images, plus hours of candid videotaped interviews with the developers discussing what happened during development. Inside the Museum, the Music Player contains over 200 tracks spanning the six titles, so you can listen to the series' soundtracks outside of matches.
