What the game is
Starship Troopers: Extermination is a first-person co-op shooter where you and up to 15 other players fight the Arachnid swarm across large planetary maps. You play as a Deep Space Vanguard Trooper, and the job on every mission is the same: retake and rebuild strategic bases, construct refineries, and complete objectives to push the Bugs off the planet. Your standard issue weapon is the Morita Assault Rifle, and the maps come with environmental hazards and a dynamic weather and time-of-day system that can work against you as much as the Bugs do. Bug corpses pile up as you fight, forming persistent physical terrain that changes cover and sightlines for the rest of the mission.
How your group plays together
The whole group coordinates across squads to defend objectives, gather resources, and build up a fortress. Base building happens in real time using building tools and a ping system, so you can throw down walls, towers, and ammo stations while the fight is still moving. Roles matter: six classes each bring something the team needs. The Ranger uses a jetpack for fast flanking and scouting, while the Sniper takes high ground with jump jets and the Morita XXX Sniper Rifle to pick off priority targets like Plasma Grenadiers. The Demolisher carries a mortar and grenade launchers for clearing packed groups, and the Guardian plants themselves with Siege Mode to hold a line under heavy pressure. The Engineer builds, repairs, and stocks ammo stations, and the Medic keeps everyone standing with a Medical UAV and stim-launchers. Every trooper can do a basic revive, but the Medic does it faster and at range.
What to know before starting
Pick a class that fits how you want to contribute, since each one has its own progression, weapons, and perks. Survival is not guaranteed, so expect to lean on your squad rather than run off alone. Watch the weather and the clock, since conditions shift during a mission and affect how you approach an objective. Also keep an eye on the ground under your feet: the piles of Bug corpses you create become part of the battlefield and can be used as cover or vantage points.
