What Sledders is

Sledders is a physics-driven snowmobile simulator built around backcountry riding. There are no tracks, checkpoints, or set routes. The mountain is open world, so you pick your own line: climb steep faces, sidehill across hills, and drop into untouched bowls. Every throttle tap, lean, and countersteer input matters, and the deep snow reacts accordingly. Some lines feel impossible at first, and a climb can take tens of attempts before you reach the top. The maps are large and inspired by real northern riding areas, so crossing a single area can take a long time and the best spots are rarely obvious from below.

Riding together online

You can ride solo or join others online on dedicated servers. Proximity voice chat keeps the group in contact as you spread out across the mountain, which makes it practical to call out lines, help spot climbs, or sit and watch a friend try to survive a sketchy sidehill. The freeride setup means nobody is racing a clock or fighting for a checkpoint; the group just shares the same open terrain and rides where it wants. When someone pulls off a run worth keeping, the replay system records it, and ghost rides let you compare against a previous attempt. Replay mode also works with a drone camera for chasing a friend's run.

Before you start

Pick a licensed sled from Lynx, Polaris, or Ski-Doo and head into the backcountry. Expect a learning curve: throttle control and countersteering are the core of the riding, and steep climbs will fail repeatedly until the technique clicks. Character customization is available, and the game supports mods, with custom wraps and community-made maps downloadable from inside the game. Expect exploration to be a big part of the session, since routes are not marked and finding a good line is part of the ride rather than a step before it.
