Running a ski area, lift by lift

Winter Resort Simulator 2 puts you in charge of a ski resort and its technical side. You groom slopes with officially licensed snowcats, drive snowmobiles and pickups, and run several kinds of ropeways, including D-Line chairlifts and gondolas and a tricable gondola installation with CWA Atria cabins. The ropeway side goes deep: the control system, the technical processes and the operator's tasks are modelled in detail, and interactive tutorials walk you through each step. Guests ride your slopes and eat in your mountain restaurants, so you also watch prices and guest happiness to keep the resort busy. Money you earn goes back into new facilities.

Playing it with friends

The multiplayer mode lets you invite friends to your map and split the work. One person operates the cable cars, another preps slopes, someone else handles the snow cannons. You can also just ride along in the passenger seat of a friend's vehicle and throw a snowball. Character and vehicle customization lets everyone fit the resort's theme. Mods and maps work in multiplayer too, so a group can build and run a shared resort rather than each playing alone.

Before you start

Expect a simulation with real procedure behind it: ropeway operation has a learning curve, and the tutorials are there to explain it step by step. The world editor runs in-game and lets you add ropeways, reshape slopes or build a resort from scratch, and the Steam Workshop carries extra ropeways, missions, vehicles and whole maps. Weather changes dynamically with a day/night cycle, so snow production with the TR-10 cannon and grooming schedules shift with conditions. Vehicle controls and the snow system were reworked for this entry, with improved overall performance.
